Santiago Ydáñez earns the coveted BMW Painting Award

Spanish artist Santiago Ydáñez was recently awarded the coveted 33rd Edition of the BMW Painting Award, endowed with a 25,000 Euro cash prize. After judging more than 1000 works of art, the jury—composed of Queen Sofia of Spain and Princess Irene of Greece and Denmark among others—awarded Ydáñez’s Retrado fallido de Lorca with the ultimate prize at the Royal Theatre of Madrid.
