Osvaldo González Aguiar's work is distinguished by its depiction of interior spaces with which he establishes some kind of emotional connection or personal history. He is interested in the expressive capabilities that can be achieved, both visually and sensorially, through a material considered disposable, such as adhesive tape, as well as the desire to construct new situations and experiences through interventions in physical spaces. Similarly, painting is a fundamental expressive medium for him: a space for contemplation, technique, and thought where he expands his research on memory, light, and the emotional architecture that inhabits his images.

In 2018, he received a residency at Residency Unlimited in New York, awarded by the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, and was honored with the Acquisition Prize for Best Emerging Artist at the Zona Maco art fair in Mexico City. Last year, a special project featuring hir work—which included an artist residency—was presented in New Delhi as part of the India Art Fair.
